Getting to the fest is very easy - jump on the metro from where ever, get on the yellow line - you're there! Quick tip - buy your weekend metro pass in advance - trying to buy one way's getting out is damn near impossible.
Getting out is pretty easy if you leave early - but if you don't, plan on at least 30-45 min of waiting to get into the station to get off the island. Once you're in though, it's smooth sailing - and the sing alongs in the tunnels are great! Saturday is particularly bad, since they do a firework competition that night, and that increases the traffic off the island. The benefit is a really cool display during the headliners!
Last year we biked for the first time. This was fun, but I did miss the sing a longs. It was pretty easy, and there were quite a few other bikers. Montreal is a VERY biker friendly city - lots of dedicated bike lanes and rental bikes.

Getting in is easy, but there is usually a fairly big line to get in the main entrance especially if you get there right at noon - if you go around the pool and go in the second entrance on the other side of the road - no lines there!

I really like the bike valet. Only $2. Granted a lot of people just chained their bike to fence near the bike valet for free, but many were stacked upon each other. The bike share program in Montreal is great, but there was a huge line after the concert to get their bike. There was a guy putting in new bikes as one was taken out so IDT they would run out, but having to wait a 1/2 hour to get a bike kinda defeats the purpose of biking to get in and out faster.
Also, on saturday night, dont take the north route over the bridge as it will still be closed from the fireworks when the last show ends. You'll have to wait about 20 minutes or so while they finish clearing the bridge.. And then, once they open the bridge, you cant ride your bike because theres a lot of people walking. Onece you start going down, you can hop on, but it's still pretty sketchy. Especially when you come across someone going the other way.

How easy is getting a 3-day subway pass on the first day of the festival? Are there usually long lines? Do we get the passes somewhere in the station? Thanks

The lines aren't usually too long, but I would recommend trying to get them a little earlier than noon. If you can grab them around 10am, there will be no line at all. I think you have to go to a person, instead of the kiosk, to get a weekend pass, but there are places to buy at every entrance.

On sunday, I plan to let my car on South shore and then use my bike to enter/exit to/from Osheaga. Probably will use valet parking. When exiting, there is an exit beside the one who leads to subway?
How about the second entrance, closer to Scene des Arbres? Easier to cross around noon than the main entrance? Havent noticed that entrance last 2 years, being tunnelled toward the main entrance.

That second entrance has been there the past 4 years. And yes, its much easier to get in that way than the main. Like no line at all. Its on the map.. but if you take the metro, you have to go out the back, not the way most people will go out.
Exiting is a PITA. even for bike valet. Sometimes they open up the side entrance, but most of the time you have to go around the corner to get to the valet. Most of the metro issues are on Saturday because the fireworks.
