Every year we talk about what sets are gonna be the best and will steal the show.
Can we talk about the absolute opposite : Which one you think we should avoid. There's so much good bands going on at osheaga, i hate missing one because i went to see a meh perfomance instead.
I'll start :
Alt-J : They have a reputation of not being really good live, and when i saw them on the coachella stream it made it official to me. They sound good on CD, but not live. All the members are static on stage, the voices are horrible.
Fka twigs : Watched her set on coachella stream, it was really dull. Not to be avoided, but i won't be missing someone else for it.

I'm avoiding Kendrick Lamar. As I said in another thread, I saw him twice, and both times he basically didn't do anything but ask the crowd to move their arms and yell.

Streaming are very Often borings. They are not so accurate.
For myself:
1. THE BLACK KEYS... Boring, static, not very happy to do their show (saw them twice outdoor and its not good)
2. ALT J... They are SOOOO static. They are indifférent and they dont enjoy live concerts. They never speak to the crowd.
3. MILKY CHANCE... Same as ALT-J.
4. EDM acts... Because they are EDM acts.
5. WEEZER ... It depends. Sometimes its good and sometimes its a catastroph!

Good topic! I agree with the Alt-J assessment. I just feel like their music could be so great live if he rocked out just a little - instead, snooze fest. No energy whatsoever. One of the problems with the EDM acts at Osheaga is they can become ridiculously crowded, and the sight lines can be bad. Flume was a disaster last year.

Wow that's a bummer about Alt-J was so excited to check them out. I agree - still see them - just be prepared for a low energy, but tight, set. I know people who saw them this year and thought it was great. Sometimes high expectations can ruin a good show.

Yep I'll probably check them out! There's enough variety throughout the three days that a small dose of mellow won't hurt!
