I like to see as many bands as possible, without rushing. Where an act is playing also is a factor - I won't go all the way to the other side to see one "so so" act when I have to come right back for someone I really want to see (I will if it's a "must see" of course). If I'm really enjoying a set, I won't leave early to see another, (again, not a must see). Even so, I usually average about 10 acts a day. I spend no time at the attractions, other than to sit by the pond for a few minutes, or grab some food. I get to the fest right at noon, and check anything I'm interested in then - merch etc.

In similar fashion to the above, an ideal Osheaga schedule for me is one where the majority of the acts i wanna see are playing in the main stage area. Because then it's back to back to back sets all day long without interruption. By the time my day is done, I've see around 10 acts.
Unfortunately, I feel that this might be a year where I'll feel forced to venture out onto the side stages given that there's a few of the top names on the poster (Kendrick, Weezer, Edward Sharpe, Alt-J)that I have little interest in seeing given that I've seen them so recently. Which means it will decrease my daily intake of acts from 10 to about 7-8 or so.

Huh, very similar to you guys. I'm always there by the time the first act plays, because usually there are some good local bands on the small stages. When there are a lot of back to back good acts on the main stages, I stay by the fence separating the two stages. I'm pretty tall (6'1) so I get a good view of both stages there. Usually though, I do a ton of back and forth between Green/Tree and the mains, walking very quickly.
I also never split sets. When conflicts occur, I just go with the band the tours less often, because I'll have a chance to see the other again.

Usually, about 50% of my sets are in the main stage area, and the other half are on the smaller stage.
I plan my schedule before the festival in order to make the best decision and hopefully not regretting not seeing one act. I try as much as possible to see entire set. Let's say i wanna see 2 act both playing 45 minute at the same time, i won't do half of both, i'll settle for one.
I always eat while going to a set or while at a set, i never sit somewhere to eat it would be a waste of time in my eye.
I average 9 shows per day with this strategy.
